Coppery titi monkey
Plecturocebus cupreus
Coppery titis are small monkeys that are covered in copper-brown fur and have a tail that is longer than their body. They spend most of their time in trees and rarely come to the ground. These monkeys eat fruit, insects and leaves in the wild. Coppery titi monkey can live for up to 20 years in captivity.
Coppery titi monkeys live in the Amazon rainforest in Brazil and Peru.
One breeding pair live together with their offspring; their young leave the family group when they are two or three years old. These monkeys usually have one baby every year. Males carry around the baby until it is six months old.
