Bank Holiday Fun at Drusillas

It’s set to be a bumper Bank Holiday at Drusillas Park this weekend. In addition to their usual attractions, the award winning zoo in East Sussex is also celebrating the arrival of two red pandas, lots of baby bundles, plus Postman Pat will also be making a special guest appearance on Bank Holiday Monday 6th May.

Since their arrival at Easter, red pandas Mulan and Tibao have settled well, making a huge impression on staff, visitors and each other. They have been brought together as part of the European Breeding Programme and so far the signs are encouraging. Keepers have high hopes that in time the bamboo eating pair will have a bambino of their own.

The warmer weather has also brought with it the arrival of lots of spring babies including a rare black lemur. The happy discovery was made by keepers on 14 April and is the third black lemur to be born at the zoo in as many years. Both mother and baby are doing well and can be seen in the public walk-through enclosure, Lemurland. Other baby boomers include a Goeldi’s monkey, silvery marmoset, red-handed tamarin and black cheeked lovebirds.

However, the fun doesn’t stop here. On Bank Holiday Monday, Postman Pat will take a well-earned break from delivering the post in Greendale to make a special guest appearance at Drusillas. During the event, Postman Pat will entertain visitors in his ‘Special Baking Service’ mini show at the Events Arena.  Don’t miss this high energy show in which the friendly country postman bakes a cake for Jess’ birthday, with the help of his friend, Ben Taylor and the audience. There will also be the opportunity to see Postman Pat at the meet and greet appearances at intervals throughout the day.

With all this plus the usual animal magic, large adventure play area and a Thomas & Friends™ train that runs daily, Drusillas Park is a great place to hang out with your little monkeys over the bank holiday.
