Drusillas takes another step toward sustainability with new EV charger points
Drusillas Park are pleased to announce the installation of new electric vehicle charger points at the Park – now open for use by visitors driving electric and hybrid vehicles.
The installation of two twin 7kw chargers, from market leaders Pod Point, means the Park now offers four charger points for visitors to use – marking another step towards achieving sustainability at Drusillas.
Managing Director, Ollie Smith said “Every single person - and business - has a role to play when combating climate change, becoming greener, and achieving net zero. A major challenge is reducing carbon emissions, of which, petrol and diesel cars contribute significantly.”
Ollie continued, “Drusillas wants to play its role in facilitating the shift from combustion engines to EV and that is why we have installed four brand new chargers, from market leaders Pod Point. Staff and visitors will have exclusive access to these charge points, and we have plans to continue to increase our offering of these types of facilities.”
The new charging points form part of Drusillas’ wider sustainability strategy, which they continue to develop. Current sustainability measures include growing their own bamboo and browse for animal feed, using surplus vegetables from local supermarkets, biodegradable and compostable cutlery and food packaging, and 100% of their waste is either recycled or generated into renewable energy.
